Editor's Note

The Ena Orient collection from Augarten Wien 1718 combines Art Deco refinement with exotic flair in a series of pieces that will lend your table a simple yet utterly striking touch.

Originally designed by Ena Rottenberg at the beginning of the 1930s, the collection celebrates the coffee and tea-producing regions of Asia and Africa. Adorned with Ena's exotic interpretations of the Far East, Augarten captures both fine details and facial expressions with each sculpture masterfully and elegantly brought to life in a poetic pose.

Beautifully simple, each teapot, coffee pot, sugar bowl, cream jug and cup is lovingly and meticulously handcrafted from the finest translucent porcelain. The stylised lids harmoniously blend with the smooth, gentle silhouettes of the bowls and flowing handles creating a seductive visual effect that emphasises the simplicity of the timeless design.

The Ena Orient collection stands out to make a romantic and beautiful addition to any home.

The Designer

Founded in 1718, Augarten Wien is Vienna’s oldest and most prestigious porcelain manufacturer. For the last three centuries, Augarten has become renowned for achieving perfection in the handcrafting technique and intricate painting of its exquisite porcelain.

From Russian and Japanese Emperors, to the engagement and wedding services of Queen Marie Antoinette and Napoleon Bonaparte, Augarten is accustomed to producing bespoke porcelain of the highest standard for the Royalty and well-known names such as Jackie Kennedy, who attended the castle in June of 1961.

Since the opening of their manufactory, Augarten have strived towards being consistently ground-breaking in design and technique, creating countless unique and beautiful collaborations. In the Art Deco period of the 1920s, Augarten worked with Josef Hoffmann and other artists from the Weiner Werkstätte to create a vast and iconic anthology of pivotal designs, such as the Melon collection, that have stood the test of time and are still immensely popular today. This century, Augarten is proud to grace tables across the world with exquisitely handcrafted bespoke porcelain, satisfying the most modern of tastes whilst revelling in a rich history and tradition.
