This charming set of antique botanical prints from Johann Wilhelm Weinmann’s celebrated Phytanthoza Iconographia represents one of the most important botanical illustration works of the 18th century.
Dating from the 1730s, these original plates depict varieties of African Aloe, each presented in an elaborate ornamental vessel and rendered using the innovative colour-printing techniques for which Weinmann’s work became renowned.
